John William Sours, Sr. - August 18, 1918 to March 11, 1995

John William Sours, Sr., 76, of Berryville, died Saturday, March 11, in Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Sours was born on August 12, 1918, in Page County, the son of the late Henry Amos and Mattie Foltz Sours. He was a member of the American Legion, the Good Sam Camping Club of America Faith Assembly of God Church and the Berryville Moose. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Boy Scouts and was a retired employee of the U.S. government. He served in the Army during WW II. He was married to Elizabeth Jane Mauck Sours who predeceased him on August 30, 1985.
Surviving are a son, John W. Sours Jr., of Berryville; daughter, Sally S. Morrow of Berryville; a brother, Clark Sours of Clarke County; two sisters, Vera Offenbacker of Silver Spring, Md., and Clara Foltz of Page County; and four grandchildren. The funeral was on Tuesday, March 14, at Enders Funeral Home in Berryville, conducted by Dr. William E Ingram. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville. Pallbearers were W. Christopher Levi, C. T. Hardesty IV, Wayne Hardesty, William M. Sours, Douglas G. Sours and David G. Sours. Memorial contributions may be made to John H. Ender, Rescue Squad, 9 S.
