John William Sours, Jr., 70, of Berryville, Virginia,died Friday, February 6, 2015 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Sours was born January 16, 1945 in Luray,
Virginia, son of the late John William Sours, Sr. and Elizabeth Jane Mauck Sours.
He was Vice President of Sales for Selnick Corporation,York, Pennsylvania. He had served in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion; Jaycees; and the Sons of the Confederacy; had served on the Clarke County Planning Commission and the Clarke County Board of Supervisors; was an Economic Developer for Clarke County; and was a realtor for Jim Barb Realty.
He married Judith Levi “Judy” Sours on February 20, 1966 in Berryville, VA. Mrs. Sours died May 20, 2005.
Surviving are three sons, William M. Sours and his wife, Abby, David G. Sours and his wife, Kimberly, and Douglas G. Sours; grandson, Mitchell C. Sours, all of Winchester, VA; and a sister, Sally Morrow of Williamsburg, VA. His granddaughter, Katherine R. M. Sours, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, with Rev. Dan Stanley officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
