Mattie is the daughter of James Franklin & Mary Susan (Painter) Foltz. She married Henry Amos "Dug" Sours on January 29, 1903.

Obit: Mrs. Mattie Ethel Sours, 77, wife of H. Amos Sours of Luray, passed away en route to the P.M. Hospital at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30th.

A daughter of the late James F. Foltz and Mary S. Painter Foltz, she was born at Stanley on September 8, 1882. On January 29, 1903 she was united in marriage with H. Amos Sours, who survives her.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Vella E. Montgomery of Merrifield, Va.; Mrs. Neva V. Housden and Mrs. Clara S. Foltz of Luray and Mrs. Vera M. Offenbacker of Silver Spring, Md.; three sons, Voyle A. Sours of Stanley; Clark E. Sours of Boyce, Va. and John W. Sours of Berryville, Va. and one brother, John A. Foltz of Luray. Twenty-one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive her. One son, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

The Rev. E.J. Nottingham III, pastor of the Luray Methodist Church, officiated at the funeral services at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 2nd in the chapel of the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Sours Family Cemetery.
