ROPP, Kevin Duane Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre, Grand River Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous journey with cancer on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the age of 55 years. Kevin was born in Listowel on December 25, 1958, cherished son of Ivan and Mildred (Boshart) Ropp of New Hamburg (Nithview Community). Loving brother of Sandra and Orie Albrecht of Wellesley, Joyce and Wayne Leis of New Hamburg, Cheryl and Rodney Erb of RR#1 Millbank, and Darrell and Shirley Ropp of Wellesley. Loving uncle and great-uncle to Pamela Albrecht and David MacLaren and their daughter Abigail, Angela and Bruce Rohr and their sons Samuel and Jonas, Andrea Albrecht and her son Josh, Lisa and Nick Blackburn and their daughters Daelia and Tilly, Shawn Leis and his friend Becky Martin and his children Daniella and Riley, Scott and Lindsay Leis and their children Dylan, Lauren and Hudson, Jody Leis, Tanya Erb and Morgan Carlson, Paul Erb, Jesse and Jacqueline Erb, Jill and John Koehle and their sons Carter and Zackary, Jeff Ropp. He was pre- deceased by his niece Ginger Ropp. Through the family home program of Extend-A-Family, Kevin resided at the home of Jim and Ruth Ann Reist in Waterloo for many years and the last year at the home of Ed and Shirley Seale of Kitchener. Kevin will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was a member of Wellesley Mennonite Church. He enjoyed music which brought him much comfort and solace. He loved spending time with his family. Visitation at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A public graveside service will take place on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Rush's Cemetery, RR#1 Millbank at 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at Wellesley Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Pastor Kara Carter officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the K-W Extend-A-Family would be appreciated by the family.
