Margie (Parrish) Cramton was born Feb 15, 1926 in Camden County, the daughter of Oscar and Dora (Crall) Parrish. In October 1947 she was united in marriage to Melvin Gregory. To this union three children were born. In 1977 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Cramton. Mrs. Cramton passed away at her home at 2124 Kentucky Street, Joplin, on Sunday August 13th. She was 63 years old. survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Dora and Chuck Chew of Carl Junction, Mo. One son and daughter-in-law, Gail and Linda Gregory of Radcliff, KY; three grandchildren, Chrystal Chew and Micah and Sara Gregory; one sister Virgie Harrold of Montreal; one brother Howard Parrish of Camdenton; and her best friend; Melvin Gregory, of Monett, Mo. She was preceded in death by one daughter Opal Murphy; her husband, Larry Cramton, her parents, Oscar and Dora Parrish; and one brother, Russell Parrish. Family member said she professed her faith in Christ at an early age, first as a member of the High Point Baptist Church and later transferring her membership to the Empire Baptist Church in Joplin. In 1983, she joined her daughter in what became a family beauty supply business, with which she remained active until a bout with cancer forced her to stop working. She was also an avid bowler and Bingo player. Family members said was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. "To know her was to love her," they said "She will be sadly missed by everyone."
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Rick Ginnings officiating. Burial was under the direction of Thornhill-Dillion Mortuary and was in the Ozark Memorial Part Cemetery in Joplin. During service "Precious Memories" "Amazing Grace" and "Love Me Tender" were performed Pallbearers were: Micah Gregory, Arley Parrish, Claude Parrish, Erin Gregory,Jim Crall and Clinton Chew.
