She is a native of Atkinson County, GA but she has lived in the Waycross area all her life. She graduated from Atkinson County High School in 1967. She was employed with Baptist Village over 20 years in housekeeping. She was a member of World Harvest Church of God where she also taught a young children's Sunday school class years ago.
She is the daughter of the late Clayton Royals.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Carey ''Buddy'' Morgan of Blackshear; two daughters, Tracey Morgan Patton (husband Nick) of Waycross, and Sherry Morgan Rice (husband John) of Kingsland; a grandchild, Brittany Rice; her mother, Ethel Davis Royals of Waycross; a brother, Layton Royals (wife Ava) of Waycross; a sister, Betty Jo Summerlin (husband Mackie) of Nashville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 19, 2003) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday at Music Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Okefenokee Humane Society.
