From the 8/21/1914 Van Wert, Ohio, Twice-A-Week Bulletin: "Mrs. Andrew Moebus, a pioneer resident of this city, highly esteemed by all who knew her, died, Tuesday afternoon, at her residence on West Main street, where she had spent a large portion of her life. The deceased, who was a native of Germany, was eighty-two years of age, and although the mother of six children, only two of the number, Louis Moebus, of Kenton, and Miss Emma Moebus, of West Main street, survive her. The funeral services were held at the home this morning, at ten-thirty o'clock, conducted by Rev. Jesse Swank, of the First M.E. Church, of which church she had long been a member. The burial occurred at Woodland."

Mrs. Moebus was aged 82 years and came to this county from Nunberg, Germany, when she was about 25 years old. She came to this part of the county in 1859 and moved into the house on West Main Street, in which she died. Mrs. Moebus has been a widow for about 30 years. The lady was the mother of six children, two of whom are living, Emma Moebus, who resides at home, and Lewis Moebus who resides in Kenton. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Definite funeral arrangements have not been made."
