Mrs. Akin was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the southwest Missouri area.
Joyce and Louis Akin were married September 6, 1957, in Wheaton; Louis survives.
Additional survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Candy Akin, Neosho, and Darren and Christy Akin, Rankin, TX; grandchildren, Cody and Miranda White, Kelsey Akin, Jacob and Erin Schmitz, Amber Akin, Garret Avalos, and Hailey Avalos; great-grandchildren, Easton White and Camden Schmitz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Betty Haynes, Bill and Edna Haynes, Darril and Esther Haynes, Wesley and Carolyn Haynes, and Gary Haynes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frieda and Gilbert Kite, Veva and Bill Lee, Wylene and Robert Clouse, and Carolyn and Charles Brattin; and sister-in-law, Joan Haynes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Claude E. Haynes.
