slideshow Betty Bryan Groesbeck, 86, beloved wife, aunt, and close friend to many, passed away quietly at Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab on Sept. 16, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She had a long, happy, and worthwhile life.

Betty was born on May 5, 1922, the last of eight children born to John Carver Bryan and Emma Fanny Woods in Tooele. She was a graduate of Tooele High School, class of 1940.

After graduation, she worked for several years for the Mountain States Telephone Company and, later, for United Airlines. Her life was changed in 1958 by a call to serve a mission to Hawaii, an experience for which she was grateful all her life. In 1964, she met and eventually married Leslie S. Groesbeck in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple spent a number of years in the Seattle, Wash., area while Les worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company and then moved to Moab for their final years.

Betty loved the Lord and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Les served as ordinance workers in the Seattle Temple for many years and Betty served in a variety of callings in her different wards, but was always happiest serving as an organist or a vocal accompanist.

There will be a brief funeral service held in Moab on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at the Fourth North Chapel at 3 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Tooele City Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 19 at noon, with interment to follow.
