Well Loved Matron of Tooele Dies
Mrs. Emma Fanne Woods Bryan, wife of John C. Bryan of Tooele died at the family home Saturday July 6 following a lingering illness at the age of 69 years. Mrs. Bryan had lived in Tooele all of the life, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her by her fine qualities as wife and mother and friend and neighbor.
Mrs. Bryan was born September 19 1877 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of James A and Harriet Crodweller Woods. She spent her early life in Erda where her father operated a tree nursery and farm. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and served in the Tooele First LDS Ward Sunday School and Relief Society and was a choir member.
She was married to John C. Bryan December 12, 1900 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and in October 1944 and 1945 she and Mr. Bryan filled a mission in the Southern States.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her husband and these children: Carver W, Marcus J, Fannie Ellen Bryan, Mrs. Vera B Gillespie and Mrs. Betty B Crawford all of Tooele, and Mrs. Margaret B. Loury of Pioche Nevada. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Fred Bryan and Mrs. Oliver Shields of Tooele.
Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Tooele First LDS Ward by O.T Barrus bishop. Burial was in the Tooele City Cemetery directed by the Tooele funeral home.
