Mrs. Ruth Fant Pinkard, 84, passed away at EAMC Thursday, February 12, 2009.
Visitation and funeral, Rev. Paul Howard officiating, were at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette, Saturday, February 14, 2009.
Mrs. Pinkard was buried alongside her husband at LaFayette Cemetery. Pall Bearers were nephews Randall Fant, Joe and Charles Sims, Anthony, Chris and Jerome Ison, Ronnie and Tim Hill and Mark Lisenby.
Mrs. Pinkard is survived by daughter, Cecelia (Clarence) Newman of Penton and son Dennis (Jean Ellis) Pinkard of Auburn; granddaughters Marsha (Mark) Henderson and LuAnne Newman of Penton, Natalie (Dru) Strickland of Boaz, Ashley (Nathan Galie) Pinkard of Raleigh, N.C. and Hollie (Cem) Drake of Shreveport, LA; great grandchildren Joshua Henderson of Auburn, Jason Henderson of Penton, Hollie and Ross Strickland of Boaz, and Norah Galie of Raleigh, NC; sisters Resa (Render) Ison and Inez (Basil) Sims of Union Hill, and Frances (Wade) Hill of LaFayette.
Mrs. Pinkard was born in Chambers County near Bibby's Ferry to Olin Green (Toby) and Janie Hall Fant March 13, 1924, and resided in LaFayette, AL all her life. Mrs. Pinkard was retired from Avondale Mills.
Mrs.Pinkard was preceded by her husband of 52 years, Cecil S. Pinkard, brother Charlie Fant; and sisters Jimmie Lisenby and Laura Barker.
Ms. Sharon Story of LaFayette was Mrs. Pinkard's caregiver.
Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, was in charge of arrangements.
