Esther A. Purgatorio of Crestwood Apts., Middletown, N.Y. a lifelong area resident died Monday, August 17, 1987 at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown, N.Y. after a long illness. She was 73. The daughter of the late Christopher and Ella Morse Cushing. She was born on December 11, 1913 in Middletown, N.Y.. The widow of John Purgatorio. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Middletown, N.Y.. Survivors include two sons, Jack Purgatorio and Michael Purgatorio both of Middletown, N.Y.; four daughters, Patricia Banks, Joyce Cushing and Loretta Patterson all of Middletown, N.Y. and Rose Baker of Woodridge, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday at the Ralston-Lippincott Funeral Home, 72 W. Main St., Middletown, N.Y.. Burial to be held at the convenience of the family, will be in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown, N.Y..
