John E. Purgatorio of Middletown, N.Y., a driver with Syndicated Taxi Co. in Middletown, N.Y. and a lifelong resident of the area, died Tuesday April 11, 2000 in Horton Medical Center, Middletown, N.Y.. He was 65. The son of the late John and Esther Cushing Purgatorio. He was born on November 11, 1934 in Middletown, N.Y.. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Purgatorio at home; four stepchildren, Fred Garden, James Sochinski and Tracey Sochinski all of Middletown, N.Y. and Donna McLaughlin of New Jersey; four sisters, Patricia Banks, Joyce Cushing and Loretta Patterson all of Middletown, N.Y. and Rose Baker of Wurtsboro, N.Y.; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was Predeceased by one brother, Michael Purgatorio. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000 at Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 W. Main St., Middletown, N.Y.. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2000 at the funeral home. The Rev. Joe McKelvey will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home in Middletown, N.Y.
