Mrs. Crowder had lived in Five Points the previous 61 years. Until her failing health, she was an active and devoted member of Five Points Baptist Church and was the oldest resident member.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. at Five Points Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Karcher and the Rev. Charles Whitson officiating. Interment was at Five Points-Belcher Cemetery.
Mrs. Crowder is survived by a son, Dr. John T. Crowder; daughter-in-law Martha Cooksey Crowder; three grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; seven nieces; a dedicated, caring friend, Naomi T. Blair; and many wonderful friends who shared their life with her.
Mrs. Crowder was predeceased by an infant daughter; a son, Gordon Crowder Jr.; and her husband of 62 years, Gordon Crowder Sr. She was the youngest of seven children. At the time of her death, she was the only one of seven living, having been preceded in death by Inez B. Brown, Lera B. Crosby, Woodrow W. Beaird, Emmitt O. Beaird, Louise B. Horn and Mary B. Burdette.
Mrs. Crowder was employed for 20 years at International Playtex Corporation in LaFayette. Her last employment was with Crowder Animal Clinic in Five Points. She enjoyed her church, family, friends; cooking, gardening, flowers,
fishing, pets and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Memorial donations may be made to Five Points Baptist Church or Chambers Academy, LaFayette.
