James Scott Bernard, 55, of New Vienna, died at his residence.
Mr. Bernard was born Dec. 16, 1957 in Wilmington, the son of the late Gerald E. and Helen Jean Engle Bernard.
He was a 1976 graduate of East Clinton High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was a farmer and a mechanic, member of the National Rifle Association and National Hot Rod Association, and a former FFA member and Boy Scout.
Mr. Bernard is survived by two daughters; two sisters; a grandchild; a niece; a nephew; a great-nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Fairview Friends Meeting, 595 West St., New Vienna, Ohio 45159; or Leesburg Friends Meeting, 149 South St., Leesburg, Ohio 45135.
