Herbert E. Beglinger, an inspector in the United States immigration service, died of a heart attack at his Noyes. Minn., home Friday morning at 3 o clock.

The former Oshkosh man had lived at Noyes for the past 15 years. He was born here Jan. 15, 1899, and had lived in this city until moving away about 18 years ago to serve as an immigration officer.

Mr. Beglinger was a veteran of World war I. On his return from foreign service he helped reorganize Company 8 of the 127th regiment into a national guard unit serving as its captain for a number of years.

While living In Oshkosh he was prominent in Masonic circles, being a member of Centennial lodge, Tyrian chapter, a past commander of Oshkosh commandery, and the Milwaukee consistory. He was the first drill captain of Oshkosh commandery, recognized as one of the best of such Masonic units In Wisconsin.

After moving from Oshkosh he was an inspector in the Immigration service in Montana and at Winnipeg, Canada, and for the last, 15 years served on the Canadian Immigration post at Noyes.

Survivors are his wife, the former Lillian Gunderson, whom he married Jan. 15, 1938; a daughter, Miss Barbara Joy Beglinger of Noyes: his father, Albert Begllnger, Oshkosh, two sisters. Mrs. John Spencer and Mrs, Edward' Rankel, both of Oshkosh, and an aunt, Mrs. Allle Scherck, also of Oshkosh. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Beglinger was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Rang and Mrs. Ruth Smith. Two brothers, Capt Henry Beglinger and Sgt. Harvey Beglinger, also passed; away.

The body will be brought to the Konrad funeral home for burial here after funeral services Monday afternoon at Noyes. Arrangements for committal services are pending.
