Benjamin Cutter Auten, 87, formerly of Princeville, died Monday morning in the Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria for the past three years.
The son of Edward and Maria Cutter Auten, Mr. Auten was born April 28, 1870, in Princeville. He graduated from Harvard in 1896 and taught vocal and instrumental music in southwestern Missouri for many years.
Surviving are three brothers, Edward of Princeville, Charles of Warrenville, and Louis of Denver, Colo., and one sister, Miss Sarah Auten, resident of the Proctor Home.
Funeral services were held in the Bouton Memorial Home with Rev. Ralph Walters in charge. Burial was in the Princeville Cemetery.
