Timothy Jon Atcheson was born on January 15, 1947 in Lubbock to James E. and Lucille (Heggen) Atcheson. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1965 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. Timothy was a General Contractor by trade, but was probably best known in Lubbock for the years he was a member of the Lubbock based rock-n-roll band, "The Velveteen's" which later became "The Traveling Salesmen". He married Sara Graham on July 12, 1974. To this union 2 sons, Jason and Ben Atcheson were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sons, Jason Atcheson and wife Suzanne, Ben Atcheson and wife Marissa and their mother, Sara Atcheson; grandchildren, Tyson Atcheson and Avery Atcheson; brothers, Michael Atcheson and wife Judi, and Dan Atcheson and husband Robert; sister, Anne McNaughton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
