Jessie was born on a 40 acre farm just south of the Jury farm, both in Section 9 of Minonk Township. Jessie grew up on this farm and attended the Beal school. When Adelbert and Jessie married, they set up housekeeping on the Jury homestead and remained there raising their family of four boys. Adelbert and Jessie and their youngest son, Clarance, moved from the farm in 1915 into a home they purchased on South Maple Avenue. Jessie was very fond of flowers and always had many varieties blooming in their large yard in the summer. She was in failing health for sometime and finally passed away on May 25, 1940 at their home.
