NEW BETHLEHEM (PA) LEADER-VINDICATOR, Jan. 8, 1931

A telegram received here Tuesday of this week announced the death of Mrs. Martha
Polliard of Los Angeles, Calif., which occurred Monday at her home in that city.
Mrs. Polliard was a daughter of the late Thomas and Susanna (Hepler) Armagost
and was born at Squirrel Hill, this County, 76 years ago. She was first married
to Dalbert Laughlin, and to this union five children were born, two of whom
survive, namely: John Laughlin and Mrs. Hazel Badwick. After the death of her
first husband, she and her children migrated to California. There she married
Thomas Polliard, a former resident of Porter Township. Mr. Polliard died two
months ago, as was noted in these columns at the time. Deceased was one of a
family of 13, 11 girls and 2 boys. Of this family, but four remain, namely: Wm.
M. Armagost of Rimersburg; H. S. Armagost of New Bethlehem; Mrs. Chrissie Fox of
Curllsville, and Mrs. Lizzie Mohney of New Bethlehem. Interment was made
Wednesday at Los Angeles.
