Only daughter and youngest of four children born to Eugene Antone Arancibia and Mary Marcus.

* During the 1910 census, the family, Eugene, Mary, children Walter, Eugene, Floyd and Margarete were living in Mariposa's township 1 where Eugene was a farmer. Josephine would be born the following year.
* The 1920 census lists the family living in Hornitos, and children now include Walter, Eugene, Floyd, Margarite, Josephine, Ralph, Elsie, Paul and Harold.
* During the 1930 census Josephine 19, was living with her husband, Simon Hoyos 20, working as laborers for the Bettencourt family in Merced's Township 5.
* By the 1940 census Josephine is married to Woodrow Wilson Alcorn and with children Robert 9, Rosemary 8 and Wesley 4, all living in a rented home in El Nido, Merced County where Woodrow is a laborer.
* Woodrow's 1940 draft registration lists his entire name, his birth as Purcell, OK, he is married to Josephine and works as general delivery for Harold Lilley on 27th street, Merced.

Woodrow would remarry in 1945 after Josephine died to Almira Annie Yarbrough, and he is buried with another wife, Pauline H.
