Curtis Lee Rexrode, 92, of Stuarts Draft, died Saturday, June 5, 2004 at King's Daughters' Health-and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton. * He was born October 12, 1911 in Winterburn, W. Va., a son of the late Emory Jackson and Ada Mae Moats Rexrode. Mr. Rexrode was a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He had worked at Hooke Brothers Lumber Co. On March 19, 1935, he married Dorothy Elizabeth Johnson Rexrode, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2001. He was also preceded in death by two infant children; three grandchildren; five brothers, Richell, Jesse, Carl, Elmer and Berlie Rexrode; and four sisters, Evelyn Harris, Lilly Brooks, Opal Burns and Avis Bosserman. He is survived by six daughters, Curtisene Adams of Maryland, Nina Conner of Roanoke, Marie Bishop of Staunton, Sarah Hite of Verona, Jane Morgan of Crimora and Donna Burns of Stuarts Draft; two sons, Thurllo Rexrode of New Castle and Nathan Rexrode of Blue Grass; 19 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Rickman of Waynesboro. A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in the Asbury Cemetery by the Rev. Donald E. Rose.
