Mr. Gene Kegley Baumgardner, Sr., age 85, of Wytheville, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2015 at Rose Hill Retirement Community in Marion surrounded by his loving family. Gene, a native of Wytheville, was born on September 13, 1930.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia Turley Baumgardner of Wythville, Va; a son, Kegley Baumgardner and wife Sherry of Wytheville, VA and a daughter, Nancy Baumgardner Wheeler and husband Wayne of Nebo. A grandson, Justin T. Manuel and wife Becky of Chester, SC and a great granddaughter, Creighton also survive.
A memorial service in honor of Gene's life will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's UMC in Wytheville. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery.
