She was born in Wytheville on January 26, 1930 to the late Thomas A. Turley and Mae Painter Turley. Ginny was a graduate of Wytheville High School and retired from Sovran Bank. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
A kind and caring soul, Ginny always put others before herself by showing compassion and concern for others.
Ginny was a dedicated and long-serving member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her strength of faith and love and trust in Jesus Christ was on display for her family and those around her.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, TA Turley, Jr., Dorothy James, Nancy Beydler, Ann Crawford, and Billy Turley. Her loving husband of 67 years, Gene Kegley Baumgardner also precedes her in death.
She is survived by a son, Gene Kegley Baumgardner, Jr. and wife Sherry of Wytheville, VA; a daughter, Nancy Baumgardner Wheeler and husband Wayne of Nebo, NC; and a loving grandson, Justin Tyler McKinney and wife Shannon of Jonesboro, TN. She is also survived by four nieces and four nephews.
She went to be with her heavenly family. She's now at peace with Christ and those loved ones who preceded her in death. All is well with her soul.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service in Marion, NC.
The family will also receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville, VA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Grubb Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
