Reba Baumgardner Sheets, 85, of Salem, and formerly of Pulaski, died Monday, December 29, 1997, at the Richfield Nursing Center, Salem, after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Sheets, to whom she was married for 39 years.

She was born in Wytheville and lived most of her life in Pulaski. She moved to Salem to the Richfield Assisted Living, then to the Richfield Nursing Center. She was a beloved member of the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, at which she was an active member until she moved to Salem.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Katherine and Tom Gregory, Severna Park, Md., Marsha A. and Robert Cannaday, Troutville; granddaughter, Lisa N. Gregory, Glen Burnie, Md.; grandsons, Brian D. and Maria Gregory, Glen Burnie, Md., Stuart W. Cannaday, Troutville; sister, Mabel Shivar, Kinston, N.C.; brother, Gene Baumgardner, Wytheville.

Due to the weather, the funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Wytheville. Visiting will be held Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 135 4th Street, N.W., Pulaski, Va. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
