Mary Ann Demuth came to America with her parents from Luxembourg in about 1880 settling at David City, Nebraska. Her brothers were Peter, Jacob, John, and Michael Demuth. She married Nicolas Esch June 7, 1898 in Butler County, Nebraska. Nicolas and Mary were the parents of William, Theodore, Marie, and Leo. Mary Ann died at her home six miles southeast of Mason City, Nebraska. Her funeral was at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Mason City with burial at Black Creek cemetery.
