Mr. Benson died Saturday morning at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be today from 3-9pm and Tuesday from 9am-noon at the Kramer Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to service at the church.
He was born October 15, 1909 in Early, Iowa. He attended school in Trimont graduating in 1927. He married Edith Becker February 23, 1936 at Blue Earth. He farmed in Martin County until 1957. He then went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector, retiring in 1980. He lived in Dardanalle, Arkansas and Longmont, California before moving to Sherburn.
Survivors include his wife Edith; son Jerome of Waco, Texas; daughter Janet Robertson of Sherburn; three grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd of Roseville, Minnesota; Walter of Trimont; and Clarence of Dunnell; sister, Helen Benson of Trimont.
