Mrs. Albert J Benson, 86 of Trimont, died Christmas day at Trimont Community hospital where she had been a patient for about four weeks. She was a former resident of Fox Lake Township.
She was born October 9, 1874 at Romsdalen, Norway, coming to Odebolt, Iowa at the age of 16. She married there on May 14, 1902 to Albert J Benson, who died May 28, 1956.
They farmed in Fox Lake Township from 1925 until they retired to Trimont in 1944.
Surviving are four sons and a daughter; Walter E Benson of Trimont; Clarence of Dunnell; Albin of Sherburn; Lloyd of St Paul; and Miss Helen Benson of Trimont. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A brother John Erickson lives at Arlington, California.
Family services will be 12:45pm Wednesday at the Stockdill funeral home in Trimont. Public services will be at 2pm at the Evangelical Covenant church of Trimont of which she was an honorary member of its ladies aid. The Rev R Stanley Hunt, pastor will officiate with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery.
