Amanda Pentico was born in Iowa (probably Jasper County) on January 12, 1859, soon after her parents, George Washington and Fianna Neff Pentico, moved to Iowa from Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. She was the fifth of the ten Pentico children.

Before 1870, the Pentico family moved to Republic County, Kansas, where they were among the first settlers and homesteaders. Amanda was a child of perhaps 9 or 10 years old at the time of their arrival. In 1870, the Penticos were residing in Grant Township, Republic County, but they homesteaded in Courtland Township, Republic County, in about 1872.

According to Pentico family trees, Amanda Pentico and Orlando Lorenzo Daily were married in 1876 in Belleville, Kansas. In 1880, they were living in Elk Creek Township of Republic County. A daughter Henrietta joined the family in 1878, and a son Guy was born in 1881.

Amanda died on January 21, 1883, at (or near) Brantford in Washington County, Kansas-- a different county, but just a few miles southeast of Willoughby Cemetery.
