Henrietta Pentico was born in Iowa in 1861. By 1870, her parents, George W. and Fianna Pentico, had homesteaded with their family in Grant Township of Republic County, Kansas. Henrietta married Silas Cooper Young on June 10, 1880. They were the parents of seven children: Essie, Ona, Gertrude, Nora, Herman, Orval, and Floyd. Silas was a farmer and Henrietta was a farm wife. Silas and Henrietta Young are recorded in Kansas and Federal censuses as residents of Republic County, Kansas, through 1930.
