Lockey Mead Wright was born to John and Minnie Wright on the 29th of April, 1875, in Marshall County, Illinois. They moved to Kansas in 1878 and to Nebraska in 1887, establishing their home in Strang, in this county. On September 20, 1891, she was married to Perry Christiancy. They made their home on a farm in Chelsea Township. After fifteen years on the farm in Chelsea, they moved to their present farm northwest of Geneva.

Their home was blessed with eight children, four sons and four daughters. The sons are Herald, Walter, Lyle and Donald. The daughters are Hazel, Verla, (Mrs. Colman) Dorothy and Ruby. All the children except Mrs. Coleman, whose home is in Lincoln, reside at home or near the home.

Besides the children and the husband, she leaves to mourn her passing away, her mother, five brothers four sisters and ten grandchildren.

She was united with the United Brethren Church in Strang at the age of eighteen years. Recently, she expressed a wish to be united with the Geneva Congregational Church, which request was granted October 12, 1926, at her home.

She was sick for a long time, suffering patiently that dreaded disease of the human race. Everything possible and known to man was resorted to, to effect a cure, but nothing availed. The end came Saturday morning, November 20, at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 21 days.

The funeral took place from the Geneva Congregational Church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, and was conducted by Rev. David Tudor. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery.
