Opal Banks Semones, 81, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.
Mrs. Semones was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Lawrence and Nancy A. Quesenberry Banks.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arlo James Semones; grandchild, Erin Miranda Howell; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Dennis and Mollissa Semones of Hillsville, Terry A. and Karen Semones of Galax, Lisa Semones Howell of Hubert, NC, Billy Semones of Hillsville and Mary Ellen and Steve Walls of Fancy Gap; brothers and sisters-in-law, Foy and Reva Banks of Hillsville and Connie and Bevie Banks of Galax; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
