Cova Banks Midkiff, 81, of Hillsville, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. She was the widow of William E. Midkiff. Survivors include four daughters, Frances Bateman of Union Grove, N.C., Ann Snyder of Yadkinville, N.C., Nina Garton of Hillsville and Cindy Hicks of Mount Airy, N.C.; two brothers, Foy Banks of Laurel Fork and Connie Banks of Galax; two sisters, Joy Combs and Opal Semones, both of Hillsville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral was held Tuesday at the Skyview Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial followed in the Quesinberry-Bobbitt cemetery.
