The Oklahoma, Wednesday, Feb 1, 1961:
Hancel C "Hank" Abney, 51, of 2928 W Hill, died Tuesday at St Anthony Hospital. Services will be 2 pm Thursday in Crestwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under of Smith & Kernke Funeral Home.

Abney was born at Union, MS, and had lived here since 1930. He was owner and operator of Hik'ry Pit Barbeque, 3816 N May, and The Eclair Restaurant, 2800 NW 39. He was a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret E and two sons, Steven 14 and John 9, all of the home; his parents, Mr & Mrs E M Abney, 2707 N Missouri; a sister, Mrs Blanche Wise, Tulsa and an uncle, Louis D Abney, 508 NW 30.
