Charlotte M. Ring, age 88, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and formerly of Dassel, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 1997 at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson. Funeral services were Monday, July 21 1997 at 10:00 a.m.from Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment was at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, Minnesota. Pastor Jonathan Rathjen officiated, Maxene Moormann was the organist, Joan Benson sang "In The Garden" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Congregational hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend". Pallbearers were John Dietel, Bob Klamert, Eric Klamert, Bob Ring, DAvid Dietel and Paul Dietel.
Charlote Marion Ring was born on April 1, 1909 in Fairmont, the daughter of August and Dora (Benway) Baumgartner. Charlotte was baptized a an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth. she grew up and attended country schools in Waseca, Minnesota and Country Hunter, North Dakota. Her family later moved to Collinwood Township, Meeker county, Minnesota. Charlotte spent most of her adult life at her first love, farming in the Dassel-Collinwood area. In 1961, she was chosen "Queen for a Day" when the television show came to Minneapolis. she won many prizes, the most important to her was a brand new tractor, so she could continue farming. Chaarlotte was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel for many years, and later at Peace Lutheran in Hutchinson. She loved to travel, read, arrange flowers, do ceramics, crochet, and visit with family and friends.
Charlotte Marion Ring passed away on Thursday, July 17, 1997, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Helen Storm of Milwaukee, WI; step-children, Deane Dietel (and Maxine) of Hutchinson, Dorothy Ogren Muck (and Keith) of Gaylord, Norman Dietel of Cokato, Marjorie Hagy of Spokane, WA, Willils (Gene) Ring of Cokato, and Wallace ring of Kingston; a granddaughter, a brother Robert Baumgartner, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and many step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Storm, John Dietel and Lloyd Ring; sons, Jack and Kenneth Storm, brothers Leo and Roy Baumgartner and sister May Kruger.
Arrangements were with the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel, Hutchinson.
