Leo L. Baumgartner, 69, passed away March 23, at Meeker County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Baumgartner, former Litchfield Mayor, former hatchery man and former officer of both American Poultry and American Hatchery Association was active in Litchfield civic affairs, until his health failed him several months ago.
Leo L. Baumgartner was born April 12, 1897 in Sherburn, Minnesota, son of Dora (Benway) and August Baumgartner. He's been a resident of Meeker County since 1922, residing in Dassel before moving to Litchfield. Surviving are his wife Mabel, 2 daughters, Mrs. James Reed (Elaine) of Fargo, North Dakota and Mrs. K. E. (Beatrice) Thompson of Litchfield, 2 brothers, Roy of Litchfield, Robert of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, 2 sisters, Mrs. Charles Kruger of Darwin and Mrs. Charlotte Dietel of Minneapolis; also two granddaughters Marilyn and Pamela Thompson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Mrch 25 at 2 p.m. at Methodist Church in Litchfield. Burial at Riley cemetery. March 30, 1967 Litchfield Independent Review.
Preceded in death by a daughter Bernice Meryl (1922-1923)
