William "Sparkplug" Wells, 74, FLorence Street, died at 2:25am Monday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after suffering a heart attack. Services will be at Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Gilther officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-9 tonight.
A native of Christian County, he was born May 8, 1922 the son of the late Christopher Columbus "Lum" and Ethel Spurlin Wells. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired forklift operator for Thomas Industries. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Johnson Wells, a son Jimmy Elwood Wells, Indian Mound, 2 daughters Phyllis Lamb ad Pamela Sue Edwards both of Hopkinsville. 2 sisters Frances Wells Brown and Mary Wells Combs both of Hopkinsville. 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
