Child of John Carl Ludwig Maass and Mary Louise Ripple and wife of Charles Bruhn.

Married on February 13, 1912 at the home of Charles and Anna Bruhn in Minnetrista, Hennepin County, Minnesota.

Children: Milton, Vernon and Earl


Article from the Waconia Patriot newspaper dated March 1, 1912:

Miss Emma Maass, one of the worthy and highly accomplished young ladies of this vicinity, was joined in wedlock to Mr. Charles Bruhn, Jr., at the home of Charles Bruhn, Sr., on Tuesday, February 13th. The Reverend E. H. Heinemann of the German Baptist Church officiating at the services. The ceremony was performed in the presence of only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. The bride was attended by the Misses Laura and Lillie Bruhn, while the groom was attended by his brother, Ben Bruhn and John Maass, Jr.

The fair young bride is the only daughter of our honored citizen, Mr. John Maass, Sr., and is a cultured young lady and a young woman much respected in the home circle. The groom is the oldest son of our respected residents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bruhn, Sr., and is a young man of steady habits and promise, being in the blacksmith business in this village and is making good. We congratulate them heartily and hope the future may bring them a full measure of success and bliss.

The following out-of-town friends and relatives were present: Mr. and Mrs. F. Mergen of Frazee, Minnesota, Mrs. A. Lange of Anoka, Minnesota, Mrs. F. Schultz and Miss Pearl Monitor of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Frye of Minneapolis, Mrs. F. Maxwell and family of Excelsior, and Fred Fink and John Ripple and families of near Victoria.


Obituary from the Waconia Patriot dated Thursday, August 16, 1951:

Mrs. Charles Bruhn (nee Maass) of St. Bonifacius passed away last Thursday afternoon, August 9, at the Asbury Hospital in Minneapolis after a long illness. She was 60 years of age.

The body lay in state at the Yetzer Funeral Home until Sunday afternoon when it was taken to the Minnetrista Baptist Church at St. Bonifacius where funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Interment was made in the Minnetrista Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Ralph C. Lutter officiated.

Surviving are her husband, Charles, of St. Bonifacius; and three sons, Milton of Madison, Wisconsin; Vernon of St. Bonifacius (a member of the faculty of the Waconia High School); and Earl of Owatonna.
