Son of Edwin Wattson & Caroline M. (Howe) Wattson. Grandson of Jedediah Howe, first Electo-typist in American.

In 1862 he joined Co. "M" 15 PA Cavalary as a private. He was discharged in 1865. In 1869 he entered the Army for only 3 months.

He married Leocadia Virginia Joseph Zacharias 4 Sep 1873 in Albany, New York. They had issue: (Father)Edwin D. Wattson Jr. & Alonzo Sabine Wattson.

He died in the Veterans Home in Hampton, Virginia of Chronic Diahhrea.
