Mabel attended both Myers and Babione country schools through the eighth grade. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1916 and taught school for one year in Ballville and one year in Gibsonburg. She attended North Central College from 1918 until 1922 and taught school in Pocatello, Idaho. After her marriage she returned to Idaho and she and her husband taught school for two years in Twin Falls.
Mabel married Bert Jennings Bingle on June 17, 1923 in Fremont. Mabel and Bert had children: Vella Irene and James Douglas.
