There is a "small (pocket sized) book given to John Henry by...Jane (Shadle) Callen when he went to war. It is signed "Grandmother Callen" The book contains an appropriate Biblical verse for each day of the year. John Henry carried this little book in his uniform breast pocket through the War. It is blood stained (his blood), but is in beautiful condition."
