Clarence Gibson succumbs from crash injuries
GROVE CITY - Clarence W. Gibson. 83, of 614 Stockton Ave., died in Bashline Memorial Hospital at 3 p. m. Friday as the result of injuries he sustained in a two-car accident near Grove City on Wednesday.
Born in Butler Feb. 17, 1886, he was the son of George W. and Susan Ekis Gibson. He was married April 15, 1908, to the former Clara Rodawalt who preceded him in death Oct. 26, 1966.
Mr. Gibson was a retired carpenter and a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grove City.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Jessie) McCutchon of Grove City, Mrs. Ester Perdue of Volant RD 3 and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Rhoades of Emlenton RD 1; one son, Walter A. Gibson of St. Petersburg. Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lilian Christie and Mrs. Ruth Emmett, both of Butler; two brothers. Leslie Gibson of Chicora RD 1 and Roy Gibson of Palmetto, Fla. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Stella and Elizabeth and three brothers, Donald, Herbert and Elgie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Monday at the H. Glenn Cunningham and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Winters conducting the service. Interment will be in the Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday.
