The shooting affray was the culmination of an argument growing out of trouble which the two men had in Greensburg several days ago. They were arrested on that occasion on a breach of peace when they engaged in a fist fight in front of the Methdodist Church here.
Most of the charge entered Close's left side, a few of the shots scattering into his arm. According to Doctor Clell Ping, of Summersville, who was called to the scene, it was impossible to remove some of the pellets because they had gone too deep, and the wound may be very serious. Close was taken to a Louisville hospital this morning.
Sheriff T. G. Adkins was called last night but did not make the arrest until this morning when Warren, hearing that the officer had been seeking him, came to the home of Sheriff Adkins and surrendered. He is now in the county jail. No formal charge has been placed against him, pending development of the condition of the wounded man.
