Bio by grand niece and namesake, Frances Estelle (Luffey) Rhone and nephew William Michael Luffey.

On May 21, 1908, Frances Ilene Daniel was born in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. She was often called "Frank" or "Frankie" by family.

On December 18, 1926, Frankie married Byron Mobley but this marriage lasted a very short time. Later, she said it was the biggest mistake of her life.

Frankie developed tuberculosis and almost died at a young age. She credits her sister, Katie Belle (Daniel) Odom Campbell for caring for her and saving her life. Frankie was in a sanatarium recuperating from having one lung removed when she met and subsequently married the love of her life, Gerald Othello Vire (sp?) Parker "Jerry" on June 28, 1937 in Santa Ana, California.

Although Frankie and Jerry never had children, she was like a mother to Michael Jame DuPay whose mother worked at a time when Day Care wasn't available. Frankie kept him during the day from the time he was a very small child until he was nearly grown. She remained friends with Michael and his family until the day she died. Michael took care of her in her final days. Frankie lived to be 90 years of age with only one lung.

A very stylish woman, Frankie always had good taste. In the 1970's, she said she wished things had been different when she was young - she would have become a fashion designer. Frankie often designed her own clothing. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening and traveling when she could. She visited family in Louisiana who looked forward to her company. Frankie's low tolerance to Louisiana heat and humidity (due to the one lung) was a problem during her visits to the South. Frankie visited Louisiana for every important occasion of her namesake grand niece's life. It was so appreciated.

Frankie's husband, Jerry, worked as a medic for the movie studios in Hollywood. While he worked on the set for the movie "Hawaii," Frankie got to have an extended stay at the Ilikai Hotel on Oahu. While Jerry worked on the TV show, "The Monroe's" (1960s), Frankie got to stay in Jackson Hole, Wyoming during the filming of Marilyn Monroe's Bus Stop.

Frances Ilene (Daniel) Parker died on July 14, 1998 and was buried besode her beloved Jerry at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Notes from interview, by niece, Bonnie - Frankie was a size 3 and weighed 90 pounds. She was raised near Gallion, Louisiana, 10th child of John Little Daniel and Claudie Augusta Yeldell Daniel. Claudie was often ill. She wore her hair in a bun and wore a lavender shawl. If Frankie's father, John, ever got to heaven, it would be on Claudie's coat tail. John once shaved off his mustache, and the kids wouldn't have anything to do with him. John oversaw Davenport land.
Frankie developed TB as a young woman. Needed to leave humidity of Louisiana. Her sister, Katie Belle Daniel Odom Campbell, paid for Frankie to go west in the 1930's on the train. She says she cried all the way. Frankie met a nice man, Mr. Sugar, on the train ride. He took her to City of Hope. There, Frankie met Jerry O. Parker. She married Jerry in Santa Ana, CA wearing a three piece gabradine suit. Frankie and Jerry had no children but loved Frankie's niece, Frances "Little Frances" Luffey Rhone. Frankie "came home" for every special occastion in Frances' life.
City of Hope memories. Lived in a wooden cottage. Six girls to a cottage. While there, Katie met a lady who could throw her breast over her shoulder to let her three year old nurse. Both Frankie and Jerry donated to City of Hope all their lives.
As a child in Gallion/Mer Rouge, Frankie's BFFs were Anna Louise "Buncie" Yeldell Wilson and Ada Daniel Chavis . All three girls were double first cousins.
