ATTEMPTS SUICIDE
Cedric Daniels, age 21, an employee of the North Motor Company of Bastrop was found in a serious condition from a self-administered dose of iodine in a rooming house here at 1 o'clock Sunday morning. Physicians were immediately summoned and as a result of antidote administered the young man's life was saved. On a table in the room a note was found which leads to the belief that the attempt at suicide was caused by despondency over a love affair. The note signed, "Old Skeeter," read as follows:

Dear People: She got me where she wanted me. Bye bye to my friends, if there is any'

Young Daniel is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J. C. Daniels of Mer Rouge. He is regretful of his act and correspondingly glad that the outcome was not fatal. He left this week for New Orleans, where he hope to obtain employment.

According to the memories of my mother, Alice Yeldell Sisson, Skeeter was the "black sheep" of the Daniel clan. He had a drinking problem as a young man. First wife was Antone Poy (sp). They had no children. Quit drinking after he married "Aunt Eula". Lived in Rayville and had a son named, Danny.
