Extensive research at Highland Cemetery did not reveal a burial at Highland for Robert HOUSEL (or any other HOUSELs at Highland). However it was discovered that there had been a purchase of a plot at the Highland Cemetery by a 'Charles A. HOUSEL'. The purchase date was 10/21/1867. He made final payment on 3/4/1868. The plot was sold to Margaret HANSCOM on 11/20/1905. Reviewing other material sent to me I find that Margaret HANSCOM and her husband John Vine HANSCOM were buried on that plot. It is unclear to me if a plot contains only two graves, or if there can be more (as I know of several cemeteries where plots come on two or four grave varities). It seems no one is certain if a burial for Robert HOUSEL exists unmarked at Highland.

NOTE:
The Charles A HOUSEL listed above does not fit the time frame of the known Charles A. HOUSEL in the family descended from Robert's father. The fact that the Margaret HANSCOM who received the burial plot is a niece of Robert's, we can assume that the Charles A. HOUSEL in question is also related to Robert. The only known Charles HOUSEL who could have been alive during that time frame is Robert's brother, and Margaret's Uncle Charles Rhoads HOUSEL.
