Retha Mae Butler
March 8, 1915–Oct. 29, 2005
Retha Mae BUTLER, 90, of Life Care Center, Rochester, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
Born in Duluth, Ky., she was the daughter of Alson and Anna (Scenters) Bicknell. On March 18, 1938, in Butler County, Ohio, she married Eldon Butler. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1981.
Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and retired from Hart Schaffner & Marx, Rochester, after working there 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn and husband Alan Craig, Russiaville, Evelyn and husband Bruce Westlake, Kinnear, Wyo., and Joann and husband Michael Wiser, Rochester; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillie Estridge, and Pauline and husband Lawrence Haskell, all of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, Eugnee and wife Joann Bicknell, Hamilton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce W. Butler, on June 9, 1999; three brothers; and one sister.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Junior Bose officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Rochester.
