Wilburn Bicknell, 89, of Hamilton, died Monday morning, March 11, at Ft. Hamilton-Hughes Hospital. Born Aug. 10, 1912, in Irvine, Ky., he was the son of Alson and Anna (Centers) Bicknell. He was a molder and supervisor at Hamilton Foundry for 40 years, retiring in 1977. Mr. Bicknell was a member of New Miami First Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Vella (Beckhorn) Bicknell, whom he married March 20, 1942, in Lockland, Ohio; three daughters, Shirley (Bill) Burgher,Rose Canniff and Dawn (Steve) Harden, all of Hamilton; five sons, Glenn (Deb) Bicknell of Bloomfield, Ind., Mike (Brenda) Bicknell of Woodsfield,Ohio, Tom (Melinda) Bicknell of Reading, Tim (Penny) Bicknell of Hamilton and Jerry Bicknell of Collinsville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillie Estridge of Fairfield, Pauline (Red) Haskell of Hamilton and Retha Butler of Rochester, Ind.; and one brother, Eugene (JoAnn) Bicknell of Fairfield. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Weigel Funeral Home, 950 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, with Pastor Al Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Darrtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Miami First Church of God,Morris and Helvey Avenues, Hamilton, OH 45011.
