Niklamerie Maria Dorothea Wischmann, - Born June 4, 1833. Father-Johann Heinrich Wischmann, a good tinsmith. Mother-Niklamerie Dorothea Bottcher, born in Flensburg, Germany. Godfather-Henriette Lorenzen, Maria Stein, Nicola. Joh. Peterson. Mother died on June 8, 1833. Daughter came to U.S. at 14 with an aunt who died after leaving the girl alone in New Orleans. She met and married L. E. Wedertz there in 1851. She went into business in Bridgeport after husband's death in 1881. She died Feb. 10, 1916 in Bridgeport. (See extract-Records of St. Mar. in Flensburg, Germany, Mar. 25, 1836 pages 177, 166-174).

Her ship manifest gives her birthplace as Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
