Maurice served as a Staff Sergeant on B-17 #42-29491, 509th Bomber Squadron, 351st Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Wayne County, Michigan prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on June 27, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a structural and ornamental metal worker and also as Single, without dependents.

B-17 #42-29491 took off from Polebrook, England on a practice flight. They collided in mid-air with B-17 #42-29865 and both crashed near Polebrook. The entire crew of " both " B-17's were lost in this crash.

Maurice died in the "Line Of Duty" in this plane crash during the war.
